Overview
Disney is evaluating a potential acquisition of ElevenLabs, an AI voice synthesis startup now valued at $11B following its February 2026 Sequoia-led Series D. The idea has emerged from internal pressure to cut the cost of dubbing and voice localization across Disney's global content library. Disney spends an estimated $500M annually on voice acting, dubbing, and audio localization across film, TV, and theme parks today. The deal would be Disney's largest AI bet to date, and the price tag has just tripled. The CSO has asked you to assess whether it still makes strategic and financial sense.
