Akshata is a freelance strategy consultant and former Bain & Company Manager with a strong focus in Consumer/Retail, Commercial Due Diligences/Venture Capital and Public Sector.
She is a former Bain & Company Manager, with 5+ years of experience at Bain in advising a wide range of clients (from venture incubators to Fortune 500 leaders) in Consumer & Retail. Her work has included building their product portfolio roadmaps, new product / category entry, consumer repertoires and demand spaces, brand incubation and route-to-market across beer, biscuits, beauty, footwear, apparel, energy drinks and more.
She built a beauty brand. She was employee #3 at global brand 82°E by Bollywood icon Deepika Padukone, where she developed the value proposition, key customer personas and product portfolio roadmap in the early days of the brand.
She has evaluated 20+ early- and mid-stage businesses in US, EMEA and APAC for global investors as part of Bain's PE/VC ring-fence. This includes market opportunity analysis, competitive benchmarking, consumer insights, value creation opportunity assessment and scenario building for assets across sectors including: consumer goods/technology, financial services, B2B platforms, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, telecommunications and more.
She is an angel investor and offers advisory support to early stage funds. She is currently an advisor with the global venture capital fund Loyal, and previously worked with Axilor Ventures (an early-stage venture fund) on the investment thesis for their F&B portfolio brand, and with Ka Enterprises (Deepika Padukone's family office) on their consumer investments. Her own investments include a homegrown coffee brand and a locally sourced dairy brand in India.
